    Need Help with my Acer Aspire 1640

    OK so I got this laptop last year for Christmas from a friend and I have really never used it because I couldn't really get on the Internet with it only because I didn't know how. Now I have moved into a new home and I ordered Internet for both of my computers. Anyway Charter got it all hooked up and the Internet was working fine and then I had to leave for work I turned my laptop off came home that night only to find out now I can't get back on the Internet so I call charter ( Cable Company) and this guy tells me I need a CD and he was going to deliver it. Charter comes to my house as I was at work they call me and say I have to bring it to the shop and have it cleaned out now how does this happen will my computer is turned off ? I'm using a Net gear adapter to get on the Internet can someone please help me get back on the Internet.

    How did you connect to the internet? Wireless or wired? If wireless, what's the brand and model # of the wireless router?

    If its a wireless problem, maybe a moderator cam move it to the wireless forum.
