Ok I emailed acer like 3 day's ago and they were so ever kind to not email me back reguarding the problem I am currently am having with my new laptop..

The problem I am having is this from time to time I get a strange red checkered screen that will appear and no sooner it does it will vanish like nothing happend..

I was wondering what is the problem?..

    Newegg.com - Acer Aspire AS7740G-6364 NoteBook Intel Core i5 430M(2.26GHz) 17.3" 4GB Memory 500GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650

^^ this is the laptop I have currently I have...

Also I am hoping this is a easy fix since not to be rude but I heard alot of bad things about acer support and repairs and the such.

    Might take a bit longer then . . .

To save you the joy of the first e-mail exchange though they will say have you restored the laptop to factory state using Fn+F10 ? (Enter Bios using F2 at boot time acer logo, check a setting called D2D is enabled, save exit, reboot, at acer boot logo press Fn then F10 briefly. Will take you to factory restore menu). You may wish to save an image or at least the data and document files you have made /installed first !

Before that however I would ask if you have updated the BIOS (acer support website) and the graphics drivers to the latest version
    ATI Catalyst? Mobility Display Driver

As all the reviews on the page you linked to are complaining about the same issues they either shipped a defective software/driver build or a bunch of defective graphics chips.
If this is new as in NEW I would get a refund pronto rather than waiting weeks for your new laptop to be repaired or swapped

I took it back yesterday, and this laptop has the same problem,so I am suggesting it is a bad driver update...So I am going to try the whole update driver thing and see if that fixes the problem..I really do not want to have to get a new laptop since even with this little problem I really do enjoy this laptop alot,it has all the functions I wanted..But thankyou for the Help BruBoo
