    People,
I have an Acer 1694 running stereo speakers through the ear phone socket.
Recently 1 speaker stopped working so as they were only cheap I replaced them, still no success.
Balance settings are fine so I wonder if anybody has any advice.
    Thanks,
    Scott

Have you tried hooking up a secondary sound card? (USB sound card, PCMCIA sound card, etc)

could be a sound chip or socket failure, however i have seen the drivers causing issues like this and a system restore was necessary to fix the problem.

Further to this little drama,I bought an el cheapo usb soundcard on Ebay and I do get sound from both speakers BUT the sound is horribly distorted and scratchy.
Havent tried the card in another PC yet.
    Any ideas??????????
