so i have an acer aspire 5745G, not exactly what sure what model because its too dark to check right now, but this thing seriously gets HOT. im starting to get tired of it now because the whole thing is hot, my hands are always sweating now. when i first got the laptop it was cool 24/7, even usable on the lap, but within the past two months it's just really really hot. i just checked hwmonitor and my temp readout for the i7 720qm cpu is 92 degrees celcius, this cant be normal, all im doing is using google chrome and i am on skype video chatting.. cpu usage is between 11-15 percent, i cant imagine if i were to push it to 50+percent usage, i do not want to find out. the laptop is only 8 months old, what could i possibly do to get it back to the state of coolness when i first bought it? would acer cover this under warranty? any help is appriciated

    Hi,

seems as if the air vents are clogged with dust, or even the fan isn't working properly.
As long as your laptop is covered by warranty, I'd contact Acer support for advice.

blow out the side vent where the heat sinks fins reside and bottom fan vent with compressed air, the area between the sink fins and the plastic are notorious for clogging up ;) Fan does work? Does it get to the point of thermal shutdown???
