    Hi all,

Hoping for a bit of advice on which of these acer laptops to order:

Acer Aspire 5810T,15.6inch HD LCD, Notebook, Intel Pentium ULV SU4100, 4GB RAM, 500GB, ATI 4330 Windows Home Premium 7, 8+ Hr Battery Life, Bluetooth: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

    or

    Acer Aspire 5741, 15.6" LED LCD Notebook, 3GB, 320GB, Intel Core i3 processor 330M , Windows 7 Home Premium: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

Would mainly be used around the house for email/web/multimedia - nothing too graphic intensive. Although roughly a year older the 5810T seems to have better specs in almost everything but the cpu (battery life, extra usb port, bigger hdd), and given i won't be doing anything very cpu intensive perhaps this would be the better option. Any advice appreciated.

The 5810T is an Aspire Timeline model; it uses an ultralow voltage CPU, and that means it has excellent battery life. It also means its CPU isn't clocked as high, but the Pentium SU4100 is still a dual-core and quite sufficient.
If raw CPU speed isn't important to you, go for the 5810T.

I have the 1810TZ with su4100(sig)..For the things you want to do the processor is waaay more than adequate.Plus you will get excellent battery time and a modern looking ,thin laptop..I would go for the 5810T with my eyes closed.
