The Acer Aspire V3 is a good choice if you're looking for a cheap gaming laptop, but opt for the Intel Core i3/nVidia GT model if you can. It should be around your price range, and comes with dedicated graphics able to play most games at high settings. The AMD A8 Quad-Core APU only comes with 'discrete-class' integrated Radeon HD graphics.

I own an Apsire V3 with the much cheaper Dual-Core A6-4400M; it is capable of playing quite a few games on medium-low settings.

I have a Acer 5560g-7809 that I bought for $399.97 from TigerDirect right before Independence Day. It has an A6-3420 APU, with Radeon 7670m discrete graphics, as well as 6520g graphics that can crossfire with the 7670m. Further, the APU is easily overclockable (have mine currently overclocked to 2.2ghz on all 4 cores using K10stat!), as well as the 7670m, which can overclock to 7690m speeds! Undoubtedly, one of the best bangs for the buck out there.
