This afternoon when I came home I pressed the power button of my laptop to take it out of sleeping mode and left it for a few seconds to get something to drink. When I came back I noticed the screen was still off so I pressed fn+f6 to turn the screen on, it worked but it immediatly turned off again, now the only way to turn it on is by pressing fn+f6 2 times, one time to turn it off (when it's already off actually) and a second time so it turns on again. Up until now I have to do this for like 20 times and after that the screen holds and stays on... so what could this be? Also I notice that when the sreen is turned on I hear this buzzing sound, when the screend decides to stay on the buzzing sound is abscent...

    Thanks in advance

Sounds like your backlight lamp is starting to fail, where is the buzzing sound coming from? could be a loose connection with the screen to motherboard.

I sounds like it's coming from under the screen on the right. I've als noticed that the screen flickers a bit sometimes when I turn it on again

I would check the connections from display to Mainboard first. Failing that you will probably need a new backlight.

That's definitely a backlight or inverter failure.

Actually, if it's the inverter, that one is pretty cheap to replace.

Well, if you don't end up replacing the inverter and decide to sell it please pm me. I have been looking for a good 'fixer upper'.

The inverters are pretty cheap though, especially if someone parts one out on eBay.
