The fan on my Acer Aspire 7730G starts speeding up and slowing down very irregularly. It's often happening every 3 seconds and goes on for a pretty while. Even when I don't do anything it just starts and stops, starts and stops.

Any ideas of why this is?

    Thanks.

Its propably happening because one of your components are probably fluctuating above and below the certain temp that the fan turns on higher.

You can TRY SpeedFan to control your fans. But odds are it wont work.

I suggest Undervolting via the Undervolting Guide, to keep your CPU below that set temperature. Also look for a BIOS Update for your laptop. ;)
