The integrated webcam on my Aspire 3100 was working perfectly up until yesterday evening. Now when I try to open the Acer Orbicam software nothing happens and in the Cameras/Scanners section of control panel there is nothing there. I have tried a system restore to when the camera was working fine and installed the drivers again but to no avail.

Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

    Thanks

If its still under warranty, I suggest you contact Acer, or your reseller.

Do you use Windows XP? Go to 'My Computer / Acer Orbicam'

If it works then your software is faulty.. just reinstall it.. if not, then it's probably a hardware / driver fault... contact acer or reinstall driver

It's now being recognised in My Computer and in Scanners and Cameras, but when I open it, the place that the view should be is just a grey box.

    Any suggestions?
