    My 6920G:
    T7500 2.2G
    9500M GS[Dox Optimised 185.20: Performance]
    3GB DDR2

You will just need to install the RightMark CPU Clock Utility v2.35 or above version to do this instruction.

before you start your game, you need to make sure that your CPU is running on maximum speed by using Acer ePower Management, also make sure the RM CPU Clock is minimized to system tray.

then start your game, just play the game as usual
when you feel the downclocking is started, then
    -minimized your game(alt+tab)
    -open the RM CPU clock
-check your CPU speed(Monitoring in RM CPU Clock), the core clock is still running at the highest rate, but the throttle is droped down like 50%, which is 1100m/hz for my T7500, that means the Intel SpeedStep technology is managing your cpu's temperature.

(If your case is same as im talking about, then do the following steps)
-open the Advanced CPU settings in RM CPU Clock
    -click Throttling from the top
-click Enable normal throttling, then Apply, make sure the THrottling status is Active.
-disable normal throttling, then Apply, make sure the Throttling status is Inactive.
-go back to Monitoring and check the throttle, it's should be on 100% now
-return to your game and enjoy

(you will feel no more downclocking in your current game no matter how long you play, but once you turned off you current game and start another one, you will need to do this again  )

I hope this instruction will help you guys.
btw, is there anyone knows a way to stop the CPU downclocking forever?``

No offense but this is the commonly accepted and suggested solution for people who have issues with Intel SpeedStep.

if throttling enables because of overheating , better to undervolt the cpu , works great

That's the problem with the 6920G, though - no amount of undervolting stops it from being triggered. There's something else causing the thermal throttling.

general question: has anybody tried a cooling pad ?

if the cpu is throttling due to heat issues. would a cooling pad, with a fan help ?

    Cheers

yes but it still kicks in later then normal
it doesnt remove the throlltling only delays it

mybe becaus the cover of the 8960 isnt that good at airflow
or my fans (pad) arent a good quality
mybe need more fans or higher speed fans

i got the recent released belkin cooling pad
    http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=4004
tis 1 but a newer model

But i dont think its only heat thats the cause
caus i never seen my temp go over 47° MAX
and thats only for 1 of my Quad cores never seen all of em at once go over that
max normal working ive seen was 40 if im right
    this with the pad ofc.

so i dont know why this throttling actually appears :s
    it really is a bugger

    as stated before
why do they limited this farari to 120KM/houre while it can go 300KM/houre easly

this work for me but little while playing RMClock says that Core is overheated and sometimes computer shuts down while playing. I tried to raise the bottom of the laptop so it could get little better air but it didnt help much.

6920G CPU can withstand up to 105C(it will shutdown to prevent damage during that stat).
The throttling of 6920G is not 100% affected by temperature.
Maybe the CPU is set to throttle on specific temperature. Which it sucks.

Any idea how to fix this temp. problem, sucks to play like 15-20min WoW and then laptop shutsdown. Do i have to buy somekind of laptop coolerpad or something or can this be fixed from setting or?

What kind of model of acer laptop are you using?
Kindly tell the model and specifications.

Before tweaking or using software to manage your temperature, clean your laptop(dust is temperature best friends) 1st.

Laptop shutdown by itself is due to overheat and is probably hit high temperature(around 100C). Thermal Monitor 2(TM 2) is responsible for controlling shutdown of laptop when overheating(prevent spoil/damaged). Acer should have set a certain value on TM 2 which is LOCKED! It is not good to unlock TM 2 and turn TM 2 off if your laptop really get freaking HOT.

    Extra information:
EIST controlling TM 1 and TM 2.
With EIST disabled, TM 1 and TM 2 would be disable too.
