The lid should be easy to replace, by the service guys. I am sure it won't be covered by the warranty, but at least it wouldn't cost you an arm and a leg, which would be if you had to replace the screen. I take it that your screen is still undamaged, and it's just your lid that's cracked.

You need to space your sentences apart because it is very hard to see what you write when you continue to do a run on sentence and do not use paragraphs or commons or any break or breath in a sentence now as far as your laptop being under warranty yea it is not going to cover the accidental damage unless you happened to accidental coverage though a third party firm or happen to have some other special arraignments as far as a new screen goes they can go upwards of 300-400 dollars depending on the make or model or you could try ebay and get it cheaper there the real matter is did you crack your lcd monitor or did you just crack the plastic casing that holds the monitor in place if it's just the plastic that is much cheaper to fix I hope this helps ok thanks bye

notice how FREAKING hard that is to read?

Take some time and help the rest of us out :(

No they are seperate, you can just buy the plastic housing and go from there. It's like replacing the bumper on a car, it's made of plastic, but the inside chassis is still just fine.

Nope.. The lid and the screen are seperate. They are assembled at time of manufacture. Look up a service centre, and ask them how much they'd charge. I don't think it'll be much, or at least as much as the lcd, which's usually 300-400 $, if I got the conversion right.

@ SSX That was just that wee bit evil, wasn't it?

As for that, you'd have to call acer up. But I don't think it'll cost as much as 200$.

your best bet is to purchase the plastic housing online from ebay. It will be cheaper
