Your hidden partition seems to be duplicated

And lot's of other things on the screenshot don't make sense either....

So, essentially, I would say you have messed up :(

    Cheers

It looks right to me. I am assuming that you have the second hard drive in the USB external enclosure and have partitioned the drive manually. Making the DATA partition a logical partition should not be a problem. How did you transfer the data from the old drive to the new one? If you backed up the info and restored it using Acronis True Image, as I told you in your last post, everything should be ready for you to swap the drives.

TeeJay thanks for the reply the hidden partition is supposed to be duplicated onto my new drive which is the PQservices that bit seems to have gone ok,but my C partition and D seem to be different as in my D is showing up green and not blue like the others and the C part says nothing about boot, page files and so on.hope that makes sense

It should. If the master boot record was restored correctly and the D2D recovery is enabled, you should be able to hit alt + f10 at boot up to do a restore to factory defaults. If that doesn't work, booting from your recovery discs will restore to factory defaults and repair the master boot record as well. Then you should be able to use the D2D recovery next time.

Not trying to argue, but according to his screenshot, the PQSERVICE partition is empty. Been awhile since I've seen mine, but I recall that it had less freespace than the size of the partition.

by default PQ is read only and hidden if I recall.... it's meant to be "empty" to a windows user.

It won't be reported as the boot partition while looking at it from Windows disk manager. Same thing happens when I look at my Win7 partition from XP, even though it is a boot partition.

When I just recently cloned my Dad's Vista install, it BSOD'd upon first startup, but it fixed itself via an apparent built in boot fixer. dest thing I'd ever seen, but I didn't argue.

It's a joke...it's a warning from a Dell tech manual, that I just thought was a "Here's your sign" kind of over-obvious warning. Scary that someone must have done it at some point, though...probably a Dell tech... I edited it and added the exclamation points for effect...

The fact that it includes a referral to the "see Turning Off Your Computer" tells me that it was written for people who have no business even booting a computer, let alone opening one up for upgrades...
