Hey everyone. I wanna put a larger hardrive into my Aspire 5315-2713 and i checked to see what the max size you can get and found it to be something like 206.xxxxx gb. however, i have seen threads where people are putting 250gb and 360gb hdd on theirs. Is this possible? is there some way around the 206gb max allowance?

There never has been a limit on HDD space from what I believe unless your interface is IDE or PATA instead of SATA which then it is like 320GB max since that's the largest drive available. Not to mention that I've never heard of a 360 GB HDD or a 206 GB HDD even after formating.

If you have a SATA interface, you can get up to a 640 GB drive (from Hitachi?) and if your case can hold the new thicker drives, which I highly doubt. You can get the new 750 GB and 1 TB drives from WD.
