As you all probably know the ACER comes with the C:drive (system) the D: drive (data) and the extra E:drive - which is only around 180 MB.

I used partition magic to move the partitions around a bit, since I wanted some more space on the system drive, taken from the d:drive.

Of course it all ****ed up, and now the E: drive is missing, or turned into something called Pqrp-drive.

I have tried a million things to get it back - impossible.

So the question is, can I get this missing partition back. And if not, do I need it anyway? What does it do? As far as the manual go, I guess it is only for making a recovery of the C-drive without the recovery Cd.

    HELP NEEDED???

uh oh, sounds like Partition Magic crashed before it finished doing what it's supposed to do, pqrp is a name it gives to a drive while in the process of merging the drive but the program crashed before it got to rename the drive.

check out this thread for more info on partition magic and the pqrp phenomenon: http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=77451

if the e drive is just used as a portion to store os recovery then it is not essential and you can operate without it, but i'd be very reluctant to use partition magic any further.

Yes, you're right about that Partition magic crashed. I've found several recovery-apps, ex Partition Table Doctor, that all found my missing partition. Problems is that since they're only demo-version, they won't actually do the recovery!! BUT, at least I can see that the partition is fine, it just need to be restored somehow.

I'll give PTedit.exe a shot, and post back how it goes. Probably somebody else have had this problem...

    PROBLEM!

I need to run PTedit from DOS. (cannot work from the command prompt). So I need a bootable CD of some sort (I dont have floppy).

How do I make a bootable dos-CD; easiest possible way...?
