    heya

i have a Acer 5310, and i need to improve the graphics score in vista.

it sits on 3.0 i have installed latest drivers etc...
can i swap the GPU or just do some tweaks?

So simply i guess my question is:
    1. is it the hardware reached its limits?
    2. is it the software/drivers need tweaking?

    can anyone help,

i would like to be able to play GTA IV,

i know its a long shot but it would be nice on the road to be able to chill out.

nope I have a 5315 and all you can upgrade is the ram, HDD and CPU ( if your VERY careful) If you want to tweak graphics speed drop it to XP and load it full of ram but I am not sure as to running any of the newer games

If I'm correct, this Acer has an integrated GPU, the GMA 950, right? There should be no way to upgrade the GPU no matter what. I'm sorry to say, but GTA IV is 110% impossible to run on your laptop.

yes it uses the 950 and has no upgrade path as it is a BGA chip on the board
as forbeing at your limit... you can go to a 500 gb hdd but thats all

What? Most Acers have socketed CPUs, so if you want, you can upgrade to a faster Core 2 Duo (like the T8300 or T9300). That being said, it's not going to help your gaming one bit. The Aspire 5310 has the GMA X3100, which is integrated into your chipset. You cannot replace it.
Thus, if you want to game on your notebook, swap your laptop for something with a dedicated graphics card (or heck, even a Radeon 3200 or GeForce 9400M G).
