    Hey folks..
This is my first topic here...
    I was just wondering..
I saw that ATI has released a update for Mobility Radeon 5650 on 06/16/2010.
I wanted that update because i have some graphics errors in 1 game, and another game can't open.. I thought it would work with a graphic card update...
When i download the latest driver from ATI.com, and try to install it, it says that i have a incompatible hardware/software and i shall contact the manufacture support for the latest driver.
There is a driver for the graphics on acer.dk (i live en Denmark) but that is from March, an is the one i already have..
I haven't called the support yet, but i hope you guys can help me with this problem..
    Thanks :D

Kong Vej, welcome to the forums!
Please post other information that we need, such as your notebook model and operating system.

The ATi driver page mentions two reasons why the driver might not install - if your machine has Switchable Graphics with the Intel GMA HD, or if the driver would disable features or functionality provided by Acer themselves.

I don't think you will be able to use the drivers from ATI on a machine with switchable graphics .... on the other hand there are non WHQL modded "mistakenly thought that it is leaked" catalyst 10.6 that was out in mid of may that has the switchable graphics option. If you are interested you can try it

Well, that'd explain it. The Switchable Graphics requires a unique ATi driver; you're stuck with the one you have until Acer releases a newer driver.

Hi to all. Does someone could recommend to me some stable, 9.x version Catalyst Display Drivers? Im looking for info about of not too old drivers which are stable and do not have overheat issues, graphic glitches and other problems.
I've tried latest 10.8 Catalyst from AMD page but i can not convert them using Mobility Modder, they are installing CCC but video driver still remain old (actually i have 8.563, which is a little outdated form modern games). My graphic card is Radeon 2600 in Aspire 5720.

You've probably downloaded normal (desktop) drivers instead of Mobility ones.
You didn't mention the operating system so as an example Mobile Catalyst 10.8 for Vista/Win 7 32bit are here and your GPU is supported so no need for mobility modder.

Mine OS is Vista 32bit, i've downloaded these ones before Link, they're look like for notebooks, but as i said, only new CCC is installing (but nothing happens when i execute CCC), and what is worsts - video drivers still remains old or default (if i've remove previous drivers first). I've heard modding doesnt work above 10.x Catalysts, thats why im looking for some good 9.xx version.

You can try manual install via device manager. Navigate to C:\ATI\Support\10-8_mobility_vista_win7_32-64_ccc\Packages\Drivers\Display find the right in file in the folder that you'll find there and pick your card from the list.

You were right! Yesterday i've tried to install only CCC 10.8 (second option of download on AMD site) which does not contain video driver, propably only full package suite (first option) have this driver. Everythings works now, thanks.
