I'm a first time buyer, and stumbled across this laptop at NewEgg.com http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16834115327

I don't want to break $1000, and this laptop comes in at around $800 after $100 mail in rebate.

My question to you Acer owners/experts, how is Acer (especially this model) as far as reliability, performance, and customer service?

So far this laptop is the best bang for my buck, and just wanted everyones input before I drop $800 (soon to be college student paying out of his own pocket!) on a laptop.

    Thanks for any input!

Looks like a good deal. I wouldn't think it would be much of a gaming machine though with the shared memory for the video card. Has a crystalbrite screen which is very nice.

I have an acer 3003wcli and haven't had any problems. Of course, I've only had it for two weeks. :D So I can't talk about the customer service side of things. I do like mine a lot. I only am using it for light duty stuff.

I didn't see what the battery is for this one. Evidently, ACER is a bit cheap with the battery. Seems like many come with a 4 cell which only last for about an hour.

    Good luck.
