Hey guys! My first post here and also my first laptop purchase :) . I´m a poor student to be so I´ve opted to get the aspire 5520. I mean, even I can afford a 541€ laptop LOL! So I thought maybe I can get some feedback from anyone who has it. Will mainly use openoffice on it and surf/watch movies/play some games C&C generals etc. nothing post 2004 for sure. A lot of people seems really negative about Vista though. Won´t install XP though because the hassle doesn´t seem to be worth it. Surely with the turion and 2 gigs of ram it wont crawl on it´s knees? Thanks in advance guys.

P.S Found this forum very useful for info on laptops, real goldmine :)

I love my 5520. Definitely need 2gb of ram. I am enjoying vista. Just make sure you get your Vista updates. I have 2 games on mine. Nascar 2033 and EA NHL 08. They both play no problems. I did need to adjust down the graphics, for the NHL 08. I use mine for work, games, and to download, and convert movies. I have had no issues. I am looking to upgrade the ram to 3 gig. I currently have the 2 gig, and when do some multi-tasking, things will start to leg. Last night I was converting videos, surfing the net, and listening to a music disc. The web pages were slow to open. I just got the Aspire 5520 about 2 weeks ago, I am very happy thus far.

    Cheers
