I've really been looking forward to getting the 8920 notebook, and it seems like it has started to show up at a few retailers here in the States, but I'm a bit confused at the pricing that I am seeing. There are 2 models of the 8920 listed at both Circuit City and Amazon...

The AS8920-6048 which is currently available, and the AS8920-6837 which is listed as "Coming Soon." Now, what I don't understand is how these are priced. They appear to be identical for the most part, but the 6837 model has a bigger hard drive, more RAM, and a faster processor, yet it is listed as being $150 less than the 6048 model.

Is there any explanation for this? Also, are there any other retailers selling the AS8920-6837? Thanks.

    AFAIK, two words: Blu-ray Drive.
    The 6048 has it, the 6837 doesn't.

There seems to be a lot of confusion around the 8920 series. Resolution, blue ray, blue tooth, etc. On top of that they seem hard to find. I am looking at the 8920 6671 and wonder if any of you have advice on the issue

One is 1080p and the other is not. the 1080p models have the much higher price ($2500US ish) CHECK THE SPECS CAREFULLY. I'm waiting for one of these myslf. PC Connection sells the AS 8920-6671, which is supposed to be the HD model. Personally, I want to see this thing before I buy it.

I agree, it seems to be impossible to find the 6671 anywhere but online. After reading through the 1080p thread I am concerned about buying online.

You're not the only one. I did find what looked to be a 6671 on Amazon (including the $$$$ price tag) but I didn't like their return policy. I know that if I wait until this screen crap is sorted out, Acer will probably come out with yet another sick machine that will make all of us drool. If anyone has had a good experience buying this gem online, please let the rest of us know. (Oh shoot, a quick check at PC Connection says it's out of stock. AARRRGGHHH!)
