I need help. My Aspire 5600 has suddenly started freezing. This happens the moment the desktop is displayed when it is starting up. From there the keyboard and touchpad stop working. Externally connected devices (keyboard and mouse) work, but once i try to open anything, it freezes. I've already tried using my recovery dvd. It restored everything but the problem persists. The problem first started after downloading some photos from camera. Please help. Depressed.
Computer specs: 80GB Hard drive (partitioned), 1GB Memory, 1.66 GHz Speed (?).

Ok. Problem solved, sort of. It was the battery that was causing the freezing. New battery, problem gone. For now.
