    Hey guys,

my brother has an Acer 5710. He wants to format it , but he has only the recovery disks he burnt when he first had his laptop.

Can he reinstall windows vista from it? Like do a (semi)clean install out of it?
    If yes, how please.

    Thanks a lot :)

Does is way works? I plan to do the same thing as find it safer to use acer's software and have them pre-installed. Some of them are necessary to me. That or the restore to manufacturer setting button (or something near, I have a french version).

If you do a system restore with the recovery disks, it will wipe out the C:\ drive anyway. Just use the recovery disks. It would be even faster if he used the recovery partition that came on the system when new. Hit alt+f10 as the system is booting to see if that partition is still available.
