I have a recently bought Aspire 8930 that I've managed to make a dogs breakfast of already & want to reformat the HDD, it's a 320g drive currently formatted into two equal partions, C:\ & d:\. I'd like to convert it to a single partition to recover the full capacity of the drive but not sure how to do it. In XP booting from the install disc it gives you the option to format the drive & start over but Vista appears not to give you this option. Can someone please point me in the right direction. TIA.

Start menu > type "computer management" > Storage > Disk Management. From there I believe delete the partition you dont want and then extend the other partition.

Never mind, duuuuh, figured it out, just like so many other things in Vista, the option is there, just buried.
