My 4502LMI came formatted in FAT 32 and XP Pro. I can't figure out why Acer does this. Anyway , I want to convert to NTFS. If I format the drive to NTFS with a boot disk, will it revert back to FAT 32 when I use the Acer restore disk ?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi, the answer to the second question is yes, the recovery will overright any partions. As far as the other question is concerned, to change the partion over to NTFS is performed by opening a dos box, 'run''cmd'. Then type the following, convert c: /fs:ntfs If 'C'is the drive you wish to convert, it will bleat stuff about the drive having to be dismounted, which it can't, then state it will convert at the next reboot. So you just reboot and it will convert...

Yes the recovery cd will turn back your partion to FAT32 cuz the Ghost image is with FAT32

As suggested by chirscatt you can always converter FAT to NTFS ..but the reverse is not possible
