    Yeah... I know, this is terribly silly,
    but I have a travelmate 7720 with WinXP Pro, that I didnt use for a couple of months, and now I cannot for the life of me remember the Windows password I set!

    Is there any way to recover from this, without having to reinstall the whole Windows OS?

    Yep. NBR does not allow the discussion of bypassing security measure(like passwords) for any reason. Do not bring it up again. The Manufacturer can assist after you demonstrate that the laptop is yours.
