After burning my finagers on the tochpad I decided to connect a Logitech trackball to the USB using a PS/2 to USB converter.
The machine detects the converter and the trackball, and displays the trackball as a HID complaint mouse.

The problem is that I cannot adjust the trackball independent from the touchpad.
Have searched logitech, even tried their drivers, but the only thing they do is adding a few cosmetics, but not adjusting the speed independent from the touchpad

Any ideas on how to get independent settings for both devices or for switching between two settings?

    Cheers

If you're burning yourself touching the touchpad, you're either blocking the notebook's air vents, or you need to send it back for cleaning / repair immediately.

Notebooks can get hot, particularly under heavy load - but if they're getting hot enough to burn you just by touching them on the outside of the chassis, then there's something wrong.
