    Hi Guys,

I was hoping you guys could help me out with a tech glitch that recently surfaced. Anyways, my laptop is now a month old from purchase. I've never had a problem with anything until about 2-3 days ago. I left my laptop plugged into AC so as to not run on batteries (at home). The fan started up and would spin without stopping. Prior to this, the fan would only turn on when it would hit about say 55 C. Yes, the new idling temperature is awesome (43 C) VS the original idle temp, 50 C. BUT, the noise pollution is getting to my head when I am studying. I have no idea what happened to the "passive heating to a certain temperature" mode.

What I've done so far is system restore to last weekend (when laptop was still working normal). One thing I did notice on my copy of Notebook Hardware Control, is that under ACPI, I enabled the ACPI Control System, but it is blanked out by saying "ACPI Control System is not yet configured for this system". I have no idea how to enable it as there is no option relating to ACPI under bios. Any help would be awesome or else it's looking like I'll have to bring my laptop back to the store.

Thanks in advance for all advice.

One more thing, I removed the thermal pad and replaced it with thermal paste as I read the threads about the Aspires and considered the procedures to make my own Travelmate run more cooler, I am pretty sure this is not a reason my computer fan is running 24/7 though.
