    Extensa 4420 increasing video ram

    This model came with 2gb of ram. Video ram was set at 256mb which was as high as it could be set in BIOS. However, if I understand correctly the amount of ram allocated could be increased by adding additional ram.

    I have increased to 3gb. When I went back to the BIOS 256mb was still the highest available setting. The total of 3gb is recognized.

    Is there something I am not doing or is 256mb the best you can do no matter how much ram you have?

    my understanding is the 256MB IS the max shared memory allocatable for the x1250 video card, sorry.
