I am having the same problem that was stated in this thread: forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=281848

I recently purchased an ACER X213W 21.6" LCD monitor and I hooked it up to my laptop only to find out that the power cable on my laptop is right next to the VGA port, causing screen flicker when the power cable is plugged in. The OP in the thread above said he fixed it somehow by isolating a power cable. Does anyone know how I can fix this issue? Would a higher quality VGA cable block the interference?

    Thanks,

    Adam

Does anyone have any advice on a certain cable to use? I have tried three different cables now, all claiming to block interference, but none have worked.

I also tried using another external LCD monitor I have that has the VGA cable hard wired into the back of the monitor (as in it only has one end and cannot be removed from the monitor) and it does not have the screen flicker at all, but the VGA cable on that monitor also seems a lot thicker than the ones I have tried.
