Hi all first time post.
I just bought an acer extensa 4420 with windows vista home premium.
It didnt come with restore discs, they have them installed on a hidden partition. I burned restore cd's (9 total) using acers recovery software. Just in case something goes wrong with the hidden partition and i need to restore the system to factory defaults.
My question is how do i restore the system to factory defaults using these discs if windows wont start up. all the documentation i can find tells me how to do it in windows, but i cant figure out how to do it during a boot. There doesn't appear to be any autorun files on the discs.

Never mind...
Guess i just shoulda tried bootin to the disc rather than tryin to figure out how it worked by lookin at the files. I booted to the disc on my old compaq thats runnin xp and the acer recovery software popped up so i guess i can trust the discs. Im thinkin about installing xp on the acer untill i have time to iron out my file sharing issues with the w2k server at work, but i wanted to make sure i could go back to vista before i took the plunge. Im one of the freaks that actually like vista. Anyways, sorry for postin a useless thread.

Would it let you do another set but to DVDs this time? Might be a good idea to do so if it will.
