Has anyone managed to install an Expresscard with USB3 ports in an Acer Laptop that has worked.

I have an 8930g running Win8 and have a 'generic' 54mm USB3 expresscard that has 2 USB3 ports and a supplementary power output and uses an Asmedia driver.

The problem I have with it is that whenever I connect an external sata drive (with or without supplementary power) the card driver crashes (at least in device manager the little yellow warning appears) and cannot be used again until I remove it and re-install it.

If I connect normal USB2 memory sticks to the either of the 2 ports it works fine.

So I am not sure if this is a problem with the Expresscard, the drivers or the laptop.

    Anyone any experiences to share???
