    Hi,
How can i get digital sound out of my Ferrari 5005 via the SP/Dif?

Can i just use a 3.5mm jack to 2 x RCA and then put them into the back of my sound processor. (It has an aux input which is a left and right RCA).

I want to ouput my HD content via the HDMI connector to a TV and the HD sound (5.1) through my SP/DIF.

    Or am i getting confused....

    Cheers

Well all I can really tell you is how to enable S/PDIF. Go into the realtek HD audio manager(should be on the taskbar) and then over to audio I/O and then click on the little spanner icon and then enable it in there. I have no HD audio devices to output to so I have never used S/PDIF before all I know how to do is enable it....

Hope this helps you in some way

You know doubt have a stereo 3.5mm jack to 2 x Phono kicking around (Red and Black or white sometimes RCA connectors).

Easy way is to connect the Jack then connect ONE of the RCA plugs to your Amp or whatever play a tune and see if it works if not then try the other RCA connector. Works fine here and the bonus is I use the spare RCA connector for my composite video direct to the TV. If you use ffdshow from Source Forge our Open Source then I'm certain you can simply enable from within the Audio Config app.

I hasten to add that you must enable SP/DIF on your PC. You can generally find it under Start > Settings > Control Panel > Sound & Audio devices then Volume > Advanced and set for 5.1 or whatever.

Just for you chaps I found it a huge pain in the arse setting up my AV amp so searched and found an AC3 5.1 (SP/DIF) test sample. If you have an AV Amp and it says PCM then you aint got AC3 however if it says Ac3 5 + 1 (I think on mine) then you have AC3 in my case 5.1

It's here just for youz for a few days if you want ...
