    Hi!
I'm using acer aspire 8940G. My problem come when I fully format my laptop. I delete all partition in my laptop, accept PQSERVIVE partition. Then I install Windows 7 from a disc. Then, when I want to restore to factory format, I cannot. Cannot find eRecovery software. When I use Alt+F10, I got error.
    File: \Windows\system32\winload.exe
    Status: 0xc0000225
I have did everything that I found in internet. Then I use recovery disc that I make 1st time I used my laptop. But, the 2nd disc had some scratch. When I use those disc, while using 3rd disk, I got error:WIMSetReferenceFile:c\images_tmp_dir\pop0107s0ox00cg190.swm. Then I click OK. It continue, but I got another error.
Restore failed - Error code = 11(An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format.).
This time, when I click OK, the disk is ejected and restart. For your info, when I check the disk, file pop0107s0ox00cg190.swm is in 2nd disc.
Now I don't know what I suppose to do to restore back to factory format. Hopefully you can help me out and thanks for your help.

Making eRecovery work after it stopped doing so is notoriously hard so can I ask what exactly do you want to achieve?

It may a lot easier to install Windows 7 from a retail DVD and install the set of drivers and apps from either Acer Support or from respective hardware manufacturers.

You may end up spending days trying to fox eRecovery and fail in the end so new installation would be far easier, unless there's a specific reason why you need eRecovery.

    Thanks for your respond.
I need all the app and driver same as factory setting. I cannot find all the software and software for my laptop. Even at the acer support website. Short way to say, I need to back to factory format.
Thanks very much for your help!

You should have a DVD that is not strictly a recovery DVD but one with drivers and apps- try to browse the all. All but one would be nonsense- the one left is the one with drivers and apps.
The only app that is not available there and is not available on Acer Support is Acer Arcade- it can be downloaded from somewhere on the net and then updated to the most recent version using auto-update.

There's another option- you can try to copy (make an image of and then burn it) your recovery DVDs on another computer. Some DVD drives have better correction than others (LiteON is very good) and another drive might be able to read your scratched DVD. Then you'd burn it and use the new unscratched DVD for recovery.

    Thanks for your reply.
I already burn that scratch DVD but I'm not using LiteON. I used WinX DVD Copy Pro. Is this LiteON better and can solve the problem compare with WinX. I just try not to waste any more DVD. At least, right now, I only have 1 blank DVD left.
    Thanks!

I was referring to a brand of DVD burners that are known for good error correction. It's not software dependent- it's the matter of hardware and firmware of a DVD driver and its correction capabilities.

So what I recommended was to use a different DVD drive to make an image of the scratched DVD and then burn it again. Is that what you did?

Sorry. I thought LiteON is a software. But it's a hardware. When I burn that DVD, I used my laptop DVD reader. I not sure what brand it is. But, it is something include blueray reader. Originally from acer.

    Sorry for my mistake.
Yes. That is what I have done. But, I just use my laptop DVD drive. Is it that is the only way...? Because, I think it quit hard to find who use that DVD drive.
Is the any software that can help solve the problem?
    Thanks!

OK. But now your laptop can't read one if the DVDs, right?
Did you copy the scratched one to the new one using your laptop burner?

If you did- there's basically no way it can be readable. If your burner can't read a scratched disk it won't be able to create a good image.
That is why I suggested you make a copy of the scratched DVD on a different burner- possibly one with better error correction.

It can read that DVD, but, I not sure either it can read the scratch part or not. Because the is no sign of that while I'm burning unless I got error while restoring.
How about my recovery partition. PQSERVICE? That partition, I didn't delete. I just unhide to see file inside while I trying to solve as what I read on website.
    Thanks!
