Hey, I bricked my Acer Aspire 5739G by flashing it from Windows...
I have tried mostly everything to recover it with no luck.

I have 2 other laptops here which also has a Pheonix BIOS. (One of them is a HP Pavilion laptop and the other one is a Compaq Laptop)
Will it be possible if i:
Boot up one of the working laptops (Into DOS)
    Take out the Bios chip
    Insert the 5739G Bios chip
    Flash it with 5739G Bios?

    In theory, possible.
But the chips are most likely soldered to the motherboard, so swaping them would be hard.

Most notebooks have some sort of bios recovery, might be some key-combo to hold when you turn it on. I have no idea about acer notebooks, maybe someone here has tried it before.

I think i got it to flash!! but now it wont even turn on!
I took the hdd out and tried again from memorystick.
This time the Memorystick lighted up for about 30sec i think!
then then power led stopped flashing.
I waited 10 min i tried to turn it of by pressing the power button but nothing happend. (it didnt turn off)
I waited 10 more mins and took out the power plug.

Now nothing happens if i press the power button!!!
what is the problem now? I have tried resetting bios by removing the little battery thing..

Yes i have! :D and i handed it in to where i bought it today.

I talked with Acer and they told the that the FN+Esc combination at startup is not for recovery of a bad bios flash but a recovery of a working bios, like if u have forgotten bios password etc..
Which i think is weird because every other site (including notebook review) i have been to have said that i can recover a bad bios flash with the FN+Esc combitaion..

If you brick it well enough, nothing would work I would imagine. You might just need to send it in.
