I can't run Call of Duty 2 very well on my Ferrari. I tried changing the resolution from 640x480 to 1024x768 and the game became very choppy! I have the default Acer-installed drivers, because upgrading to the latest Omega drivers caused the system to lock. Any advice would be much appreciated.

It's due to the video card. The game recommends a Radeon 9800 or GeForce FX5900 - those are about as powerful as the X700. try turning off some of the options, particularly anything to do with soft shadows - that's a performance killer.

If you update your video card drivers to the latest you'll see improved performance.

I'm simply disappointed that the Ferrari can't play the game at a decent resolution. I've already updated to the latest Omega. The game is playable with default settings at a resolution of 1024x768. Somewhat disappointing.

Yeah, I think that game developers should make more of an effort to make the game look better on mid-range hardware...not 7800GTX's. Sure, offer an option to crank up the graphics that high for those people, but at least make it playable for the rest of us!

That is one of the great things about the Source engine - HL2, CS:S, etc - it looks great on pretty much everything, without killing your GPU.
