    My CPU is T2050, 1.6G. GPU is 7300, 128M - with turbocache to 256M.

CPU-Z shows my CPU speed is 800MHz, while sometimes it jump to 1600MHz, but most of the time it stays at 800MHz. I think it is normal because I saw somewhere in this forum about this matter, but I am not sure. By the way, how to let CPU always stay at 1600MHz, possible?

GPU: how to adjust the size of the memory 7300 takes from the ram? I mean sometimes I dont need that additional 128M from ram, how to change it?

Easy question for you, but difficult for me! Thanks for help!

Yes, the CPU Fluctuates in speed because of the Intel SpeedStep Technology. This is done to prevent overheating, while conserving battery life on notebooks. To turn it off, go to Power Options, and select "Always On" this will keep your speed at 1.6GHZ, to turn it back on Select the previous setting.

The GPU Shared memory option is not negotiable, some notebooks have an option (depending on the GPU) to turn the shared memory off, however that would be in the compter BIOS.

Most likely you can, at most shut it off, or leave it on.

Why would you want to disable it?
(The CPU thing doesn't matter, because it only slows down when it's idling, and the GPU thing doesn't matter because it only takes the memory it needs, when it needs it)

Because I have 512M memory only at this moment, and will not upgrade it to 1 G in the next six month. So I hope I can save some memory for the system use.

The GPU should have memory dynamic switching. Just let it do its thing.

I have an acer 9300-5317, turion X2 TL-50, 1.6 ghz speed, I gig ram. Well one of my memory chip went bad and I had to remove it. Now I only have 512MB ram but I also realized that my CPU speed has changed to 800 mhz when I look under the system folder (control panel). Is that normal for dual core CPU?

You have a turion 64 x2 just like I do and there is something called amd cool n' quiet basically this slows the processor down to 800mhz when full processing power isn't needed this also helps keep CPU temperatures down. Cool n' quiet is enabled because you have the AMD processor driver installed and the power management in windows set to portable/laptop(I would suggest you leave it at this setting) or if you still have the acer power management installed then the CPU speed is also controlled from there.
There is nothing wrong with your processor it is doing what it is being told to do, and is behaving just like any other turion x2 on the market. Removing ram will not affect your CPU speed at all. If you want to see it showing 1.6ghz just do something CPU intensive like superpi and then check what windows system properties shows you the speed is...

If you are using the Acer ePower Management program, you can set the CPU speed to MAX (or the next higher value after 'High'). Keep in mind thought that setting the CPU to max speed is not a good idea if you are running on battery as this will drain your battery life. You will also notice the fan will be spinning at high RPMS to keep your CPU cool.

Typically, I only use the max speed if I'm playing a game.

I set my laptop to max speed with main power hooked up. I ran mutliple programs and the speed still shows 803 MHz.
