:) Does anyone know where I could find a bluetooth module for an Aspire laptop, or does anybody know something about compatibility of some module for our Acers ? Note I'm not talking about USB bluetoth key, but module to insert IN the laptop (9300 series have a specific place for it at the back of the laptop)... Thanks for any info ! ;)

    E**y is your friend.
If you have your service guide, you could search there. In the service guide you also find a repair guide where you could find the position for the Bluetooth module. In most cases this Bluetooth module is just a USB device with a not usb plug. I hope you can reach the Bluetooth place easy. For my case i would have to dismantle the whole mainboard to reach the plug for the module. Because of that i decided for an external module. Normaly Acer charges for the module over 50 Euro and for the cable another 30 Euro. I think you can find some more information over the 5102 bluetooth module and price in the 5102 thread.

Thanks for your answer. On 9300 there are only 2 screws to remove at the laptop back to reach the place, where you can find a connector to plug it. I saw the module you're talking about, with his cable... I think this one is not designed for my 9300, or perhaps without the cable, but I can't be sure on the photos I found...

For the first time opening the notebook i thought the same as you. Oh there is a place to pug something in. But it was not the place to plug the for my computer designed bluetooth module it was a mini PCI-E port. I do not know if there is a bluetooth module for that port yet. As i suggested try to get a service guide for your notebook. In that service guide there is the place and the part numbers for the Bluetooth Module! Perhaps you can find the guide on ftp://www.synapsenow.com/documents/.

Is that site now unavailable? I could do with a service guide for an Aspire 3023WLMi. When I try it I get either "URL is invalid. Please contact the site owner for assistance." or "Site is temporarily unavailable. Sorry for the inconvenience."

You can't access to this page anymore, I saved on my laptop the SG for it, but unfortunately not yours. Try searching the web, or perhaps someone here has it, so post a new thread for this. If this can help... :)

i bought mine (for my 3053 aspire) from ebay about 3 weeks ago.It cost me about 18€ shipped, and it worked flawless.Acer wanted about 50€ and i had to place order. In my case i didnt need to take it apart, the connector was next to the ram modules so it was a mater of 2 screws.

This is what I did. Since notebooksolutions.ca wants $65+sh for aspire bluetooth w/o cable, I’ve bought one for hp dv8000 from ebay - broadcom bcm92045nmd or bcm92045nmd-95 for $25+sh. It works with Aspire 1410, 1640, 1650, 1680, 3000, 3500, 5000, 5600&5670. Even though I had to buy from them cable for $40+sh. The important thing is to get driver form hp not from acer. Otherwise it wouldn’t work.
