    Battery problem !!

    Hi there I have just purchased a new acer aspire and when I plug in the ac the computer starts to beep every few seconds . the message i get is the battery is attached but not charging. The laptop runs fine off the ac without the battery, but when the battery is in ,it beeps and does not charge ?
    any ideas ??

    Possibly a faulty battery. If it's new return it.
    Might also be worth removing the battery and with the laptop NOT connected to AC power press and hold the power button for 20 seconds or so.
    Refit battery and connect to AC and see if the same or not.

    I tried to charge the battery while powered off, removed and replaced back several times . Left it on charge for an hour while powered down . turned it on and that seemed to do the trick !
