I'm looking to basicly replace my desktop and like so many out there looking to buy which laptop is best for me. I think I settled for the TM4504LMi butjust scared of making a mistake. I'm no computer wiz so alot of this is tough when it comes to comparing spec's. I found one at 2000$ Canadian 9this is the price range I'm ready buy). Acer is relatively a strong company here in Canada. Just looking for a machine that can do everything from light photoshop, to gaming to light word processing to wireless connection and burning movies, music and photos. and ofcourse good battery life. But now some friend of mind told me maybe I'd be better with an Aspire series. So I'm back to step one ...can't take it anymore. So if anybody can give me an alternative Aspire model to the TM4504 it would be greatly appreciated or is the 4504 the good choice for me? Here is the Canadain acer website www.acer.ca thanks alot for any info.

hey Tiggeroni, there's no reason to abandon the TravelMate series and look at Aspire. In fact, I think the TM4504 is a great choice, it's a notebook that strikes a good balance of performance/mobility/features and comes at a decent price for what you get. Acer is a very respectable brand and the TravelMate series simply means the notebooks are designed to be generally more mobile and generally always come with a mobile processor. Nothing wrong with that.

The Toshiba & HP have either a P4 desktop CPU or AMD CPU. Both or not great on battery life. They are also bulkier units and produce more heat than the TM4504. Not only that, they're also heavier than the Acer.
