    Quick question--

I notice that some notebooks in the Aspire series have almost exactly the same specs as notebooks in the Travelmate series (eg, TM4000 vs. AS1680). Is the chassis the only real difference?

Also--do these Aspire series really have CrystalBright screens?!

    Aspire 1670: http://www.acer.ca/acerpanam/page4.do?dau22.oid=7845&UserCtxParam=0&GroupCtxParam=0&dctx1=27&ctx1=CA&crc=3402236331

I didn't notice this until I saw one advertised on a reseller's web site as having CrystalBright.

I think that the main diff is just the design.

If comparing similarly spec'd models (TM & Aspire), then the main difference would be the case design and additional ports on the Travelmate's, mainly the Port Replicator connector on the back of the TM4500 series. Otherwise, they're generally the same unit.

Doesn't the Aspire have an "All-In-One" design where as the TravelMate is modular so you can swap out the Optical drive for something else like a battery or floppy?
