    Hey,
On friday i bought the new 7740G from Saturn. I like it really BUT it has a big bug. When i'm playing after about 5 minutes the game freezes for 2 up to 10 seconds. I nearly tried everything but i can't get any solutions. The only thing i found out is, when im installing something and then i start playing i have the feeling the game wont freeze.
    Does anybody got an idea?
    Thanks for answers =)

Marked in red are the freezes.

Interesting  . I have also a 7740G annd I got it this week. The first problem I discovered was that the internal sound got messed up sometimes, depending on what you do. I installed Vista Ultimate for a short while before I made an recovery from the HDD recovery partition. And I didn't experience that problem there. So it may be some sound driver issue with that. However I installed my external soundcard and notice that I had these crackling popping sound and it hit me instantly that there is some problem with DPC Latency. So I tried to run the first DPC tool I found and as I expected there was several dropouts with the latency. So there are some sort of hardware driver issue as well. This may be related to your problem, Im not sure but I'll continue do the tests today and see what the hell is going on....

The thing is i deinstalled the Realtek driver and let W7 installing 1 with no success. Also the NB doesn't completly freezes its only the game, while its frozen i still can tab. Nevertheless i have the feeling that not every game freezes.
Games where i saw a freeze: Counter Strike Source, Half Life 2, Counter Strike 1.6, Runes of Magic, Phantasy Start Online Blue Burst, Crysis SP Demo ( not that much).

The only game that i think isnt freezing is Fallout 3 but its not working that good on win7 to check it a long time.

I'm not sure what is causing your problem but at least I know that the ACPI.sys is causing the latency drop-outs and that needs to be fixed by Acer with a BIOS update! Also the USBPORT.sys seems to be very unstable.

The realtek HD audio doesn't seem to be a problem to the dpc latency however.

ABOUT your problem, I think you should report your problem with CPU drops and the freezing thing in the games to Acer supporters so they can examine it. :)

Ok, seems like that didn't apply for our model. I've been playing Modern Warfare 2 for 3 hours today and for me I haven't experienced any freezing problems in the game. No problems at all for me.

Have you reported your problem to the Acer supporters?

I don't have the same computer, but what is your sound card brand Realtek? If it is, I had a similar problem. I eventually fixed it, but I found a temporary work around. Go to your task manager and click processes tab and look for "RtHDVCl.exe" and end the process. This "may" disable your audio output, but open the game that has the problem and see it still exists. Now that i'm looking at your screen shot again, I really doubt it will work, but worth a try. This is for Realtek only, so if you don't have a Realtek sound device, then forget this post. To get your audio back, if its disabled just restart.. Or I think you can start RtHDVCl.exe from %systemroot%\RtHDVCpl.exe
