Ok, my laptop all of a sudden had massive disc errors and so my best friend's mother wiped the harddrive for me. My laptop did not come with a recovery disc, which is silly cause I paid for that but anyway. Because she wiped it she put her laptops version of vista on there. Because it's not an acer lap top, I don't have any programs to work my webcam, but the biggest issue is that the touch pad will not work. Through control panel>hardware and sound>mouse there is no tab or anything for my touch pad since the OS isn't based around Acer. FN+f7 does not work because of this. Am I better off buying the vista OS from Acer or is there something free I can do to solve this problem?

I prefer the touchpad to a mouse.

Just download drivers and relevant applications (for your model) from Acer website- especially touchpad driver and Launch Manager
