    Hi, i have just purchased a aspire 5740G. It shuts itself down without warning and won't wake up! I have checked all power setting and all other areas that could be causing it. Is there a 'secret' setting somewhere that will let me put a stop to unwanted shutdowns. The shut downs are not to do with programs locking up or other 'fatal' faults.
    Also, why can't I power it up without having to put a password in? :confused: :eek:

    for the shutdown it may be a hardware problem;
    for the password - you shoud modify in BIOS the setting.
