    How original you may say.
Short story - not long. Bought it used - seller never mentioned problem - it workerd during a small test before I take it.
    Minus 140 euros.

Send it to repair shop - they tried to repair the 8400 with no luck... after 2 weeks and 80 euros the laptop is off again. ( they gave no guarante since they claim the changed the board with a ubed one and not repair mine.

Any way they are not taking up the task of putting an other model of board.. so it comes back to me...

I have read all posts regarding the possible change an here in Greece i can get hold of to models

ATI Mobility Radeon 3470 256MB MXM II

    and the Nvidia 9600m gt.

Prices are more or less the same, but what I am like is just to plug an play or at least stick to drivers since I am completly ignorant of Bios an stuff..

The use is ordinary internet /e-mail/office - no games.

    Any help uppreciated....

    Good morning to all.

Unfortunately the shop I have send it for repair DOES NOT "want" to change and put any other card apart from the 8400 I found this..
Claims also that even a new card can go bad again since the "damage" could have reached deeper...

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 512MB vRAM

Claims also that even a new card can go bad again since the "damage" could have reached deeper...
Since the new amount is again substantial I really would like your opinion

    Good morning ( European time!!)

After two days continuous testing ( everyday use NOT games ) with multiple brouzer windows - youtube - word - emails e.t.c. the CPUID monitor got as maximum temp 63 degrees for the card 59/62 for the two cores

At idling they go 55-56 the card ( 51 after long hours in screen save) and 46-47 the cores.

THANK YOU NOTEBOOKREVIEW forum for opening my eyes concerning the 8400 card and the ATI option.

    Forgot to say.
It is always on a ventilated base with 2 fans.

( Could not change the title to add the word "REPAIRED" to be visible at the forum's list, in case someone with the same problem wants to see it.)
