    Hi,

I have an acer aspire 5610, running XP with the logitech version of the orbicam webcam built in.

here is the issue - if i uninstall and re-install the relevant drivers from the acer site, the webcam works fine... however once i shut down and come to use the webcam the next time it does not work - in that all the software etc loads fine, windows says drivers work etc but there is just a blank screen... this happens on the orbicam software and others. to get it working again i have to uninstall and re-install again.

the blank screen is just where the webcam image is supposed to be - not the whole laptop screen...

i have tried removing everything from the photo's folder, logitech quickcam drivers etc, but to no avail.

    any ideas?

open MSCONFIG and stop the orbicam loading at start-up.
i had the same problem with my cam using the bisonbar software.
and stopping it running at start-up fixed it :)
