    Hi!
I think my cpu and gpu temps are too high. The idle temps are: cpu: 40-50°C, gpu: 60-70°C. I'm installing WoW now, and the cpu is 74°C, the gpu 75°C. My CPU is: AMD Turion 64 x2 TL-60 (2.0 GHz), graphic card: NVIDIA GeForce 8400M G. I'm using SpeedFan to watch the temps.
    Thanks..

    1) Ensure the fans are working and unobstructed
    2) Use the laptop on a clean, clear surface
    3) Clean out the fan and heatsink of the laptop using a can of compressed air and a vaccuum cleaner

    Sorry to hijack your thread,
My problem is my Aspire 5520 keeps shutting down, and most times i cant boot the laptop back up, could this also be another problem of dust on the fans, it does overheat quite alot, would a cooling pad help?

No laptop should need a cooling pad to operate without shutting down. You can use a can of compressed air and a powerful vacuum cleaner to remove dust and other debris from the cooling system.

yes a cooling pad will help as this draws the heat away from the underside of the laptop.
    its also a good investment.
I use one when at home, my ram is just to the right of the touchpad and the heat can make it hard to rest my hand on that spot.but with the cooling pad it stays nice and cool :D
