    Aspire 4741G keyboard problem

    It is normal for the top row keys such as Esc and Function keys to only work when pressed straight downwards? The Esc key is a particular offender; if I pressed is slightly from the left it will not register even if I feel the distinctive click.

    I am wondering if this is a defect or just plain bad design from Acer.

    It's not supposed to be like that. Make sure there's nothing stuck under there- these keyboards are very easy to clean but it's equally easy for something to get stuck under a key.

    No, there's nothing stuck between the keyboard and this Acer is just 2 days old. Sigh...maybe I'll just exchange it with my local dealer.
