    My "just for DVDs and web" 3610 makes an interesting noise. Very much like a dripping tap, and with no real pattern.

    Would I be right in assuming it's the heatpipe? It doesn't sound at all electrical, but I wouldn't have thought a heatpipe would manage to make such a loud (it's not loud loud, but certainly audible from a couple of feet or so) noise and still keep the CPU cool!
