This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Hi all! This is my first post so please be kind! lol

    I bought an Acer Aspire 3000 laptop in March 2005 and had never used the dvd-writer (until now) as I always used my desktop pc to burn and read media. Anyway, my problem is that my laptop dvd-writer (Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-K15RA) can only read & write CDs but does not recognise DVDs (blank or movies). Has anyone else had this problem with an Acer laptop and if so, did they find out the problem/solution?
