Anyone know if there is a way for me to get one of these, even thought they are discontinued? I called Acer and none of their resellers in the US or Canada say they have any. But I want one!!!! Ideas?

Also, does anyone know if any other notebooks have a slot-format DVD-RW drive?

    Thanks.

I thought the 2020 series was still available. You may want to checkout this site in Canada.

The only other Acer unit that has a slot load DVD Burner is the Acer Ferrari 3200.

If you're in the US, you could always buy a replacement optical drive that is a slot load. www.UltraDrives.com sells the Panasonic drive that is a slot load. The one issue with this drive, it's deeper than the original so it may protrude from the unit a bit.
