    Hello all,

I currently have an Acer Aspire Timeline 1810T running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I am currently having LCD flickering issues. The issue occurs within 4 cm from the right of the LCD screen. I get random horizontal lines flickering and sometimes a vertical bar.

There is no damage to the LCD. One morning I started to notice a little bit of flickering and it got worse today. However I am unable to replicate this. Right now I have no flickering, but sooner or later it will happen again.

I know for certain it is not a Windows only thing, the problem occurs during POST and in games.

I was wondering if there is an easy way to fix this without having to send it in to Acer. I do have the 3-year warranty.

I have added a link to the video of the issue:

    Hi,

this could be the cable perhaps. I don't think there is an easy fix - so claiming your warranty is the way to go.
Make sure you have your data backupped before sending in.

The problem is that the problem has seemed to have disappeared. I have not had problems for the past few days. From past experience, if I mention this problem in the RMA report and the techs don't actually see a problem they will just ship the laptop back without fixing it.

make sure you have the latest 3303 bios, that fixes some timing issues with some lcd panels. However, by the video it looks like the cable or the panel is failing. The techs should flex both the panel and cable to try and replicate it, but it doesn't hurt to provide them with a copy of the video. Based off of that, I would replace the lcd.

also, there is no inverter on this unit, lcd is led backlit.
